The Packers beat the Panthers 27-19, but Matt LaFleur's offense nearly blew it. Chris Lempesis breaks down Jordan Love, Green Bay's dominant defense, Ty'Ron Hopper, Christian Watson's incredible comeback, disastrous special teams, Micah Parsons, and another victory that felt unnecessarily painful.
The Green Bay Packers defeated the Carolina Panthers 27-19 on Thursday Night Football, improving to 5-3 in the 2026 NFL season. But despite the victory at Lambeau Field, Chris Lempesis has plenty to say about Jordan Love, Matt LaFleur's play-calling, Green Bay's nonexistent rushing attack, and an offense seemingly determined to keep opponents alive.
On this episode of Lemps Talkin' Pack, Chris breaks down a Packers win that should have been comfortable but somehow became another fourth-quarter adventure.
First, some actual good news! Jonathan Gannon's defense continues to develop into something special. Six sacks, relentless pressure on Bryce Young, and a breakout performance from Ty'Ron Hopper helped Green Bay survive its own offensive incompetence. And with Micah Parsons potentially returning soon, could this defense become truly elite?
Then there's the offense.
Jordan Love was brilliant in the first half before throwing a costly interception. Matt LaFleur once again embraced conservative play-calling, apparently convinced that repeatedly running into a brick wall will eventually make the wall apologize.
Chris examines Green Bay's historically dreadful rushing statistics, questions the Jonathan Taylor trade rumors, and wonders why the Packers refuse to let Love throw the football when games are on the line.
Plus:
Naturally, there's a victory beer, some Wisconsin sports celebration, and a healthy dose of basement Packer room frustration.
The Packers won. Chris is relieved. Nobody is particularly reassured.
